5 Reasons You Shouldn’t Be Vaping

Vaping. It’s becoming a popular pastime, with a full 41 million e-cigarette users worldwide as of 2018- and that number is growing.

Why people begin vaping varies, but for many it is due to the belief that vaping will help them quit smoking, which they perceive to be worse than smoking. Unfortunately, this isn’t always true.

In fact, because vaping fluid is largely unregulated, it can actually have more dangerous chemicals than cigarettes, making it more addictive, and more harmful to your body.

If you thought vaping was safe, here are a few reasons to stop that could change your mind.

It’s Full Of Toxins

Vaping fluid was found to be chock full of dangerous environmental toxins such as formaldehyde. If it’s that bad for the air, imagine what it’s doing to your body!

It Causes Cavities

Vaping can cause cavities by drying out the mouth and letting harmful oral bacteria take over, This can in turn cause cavities and gum disease, which can lead to tooth decay, tooth loss, gum loss, and even bone loss!

It Causes Bad Breath

Even without smoke, vaping can cause bad breath. That’s because it dries out the mouth, and that lack of saliva can’t wash away bacteria or food particles that cause bad breath.

It Can Affect Others

It’s easy to assume that because you’re not generating smoke with your vape, you aren’t creating the danger of secondhand smoke. Unfortunately, this is misleading. Vaping fluid can still affect those who don’t vape, by both inhaling the secondhand vapor, and coating furniture, walls, and floors where it can be touched and absorbed by the body.

It Can Cause Oral Cancer

Vaping can cause oral cancer because it not only is full of chemicals, but it also gets hot enough to affect the tissue of the mouth, increasing your odds of developing oral cancer.

As you can see, vaping isn’t as safe as it may seem. Thankfully, you can protect yourself by quitting, or by never starting at all!
